Advocacy & Taking Action
We’re embracing and seeding the civic energy of older adults and youth in a leadership training program for potential activists of any age. Participants will learn new skills in policy research, connecting with public officials, shaping dialogue, and strategy to address a neighborhood concern or strengthen an existing effort.
In 2021, the New West Willow Neighborhood Association (NWWNA) took on the mission of bringing generations of West Willow residents together to get to know each other better and collaborate on growing their community. Fast forward three years, and an emphasis on intergenerational programming has accomplished more than any party thought possible.
Our new leaders have a chance to work on a real-life project to make change happen in their own neighborhood. The new group of activists has decided to make West Willow Park safe, inclusive, and accessible for everyone as their first project.
Older adults and youth/teens who actively participate in scheduled sessions will receive an education stipend during scheduled compensation periods.
